FIELD: microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to evaluation of environment pollution degree. The strain Enterobacter aerogenes 300S (S- sensitive) is isolated from lake water and deposited and number GISK = 265. The strain grows good in 1.3% beef-extract agar, beef-extract broth and in Endo's medium but its growth is inhibited easily by low concentrations of different metal ions, disinfecting agents and detergents (MIC = 0.01-0.1 mg/l). It shows high sensitivity to insignificant impurities of ecologically harmful substances in drinking water. The strain is indicator for biotesting drinking water and revives after exposition in ecologically pure water only without toxic impurities. EFFECT: valuable properties of strain. 1 ex
