FIELD: analytical instrumentation.;SUBSTANCE: invention is related to multicollector magnetic mass spectrometer designed for qualitative and quantitative analysis of impurities in matrixes of complex composition, specifically, in gas chromatographer with high-efficiency capillary columns. Technical result of invention lies in enlargement of relative range of masses of complete mass spectrum up to 5 and more with relative range of masses recorded by any of collectors not exceeding 3 and time of recording of mass spectrum under doubled least of recording time of mass spectrometer, with specified number of collectors and constant rate of change of ratio of square of induction of magnetic field in gap of magnet to energy of ions in same gap, cyclic recording and storage of mass spectra. Multicollector magnetic mass spectrometer incorporates ion source with focusing device, double-pole magnet with gap between poles, collectors of ions ensuring recording of ions, each having own value of radius of turn in magnet which are mounted in gap of magnet or behind magnet. System controlling mass spectrometer controls ratio of square of induction of magnetic field in gap of magnet to energy of ions in same gap. Automated system of data gathering is based on computer and is connected to all collectors of ions and to system controlling mass spectrometer.
