An arrangement for picking up X-rays that have passed through objects in the human body comprises a fluorescent material layer (1) that reduces the X-ray dose to the body behind it, and an absorption layer (2) in the radiation penetration direction. The dose reducing absorption layer is on a flexible substrate film (3).
