In neutralizing decomposition products, especially hydrofluoric acid (HF), formed in plant containing sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), by bringing the contaminated surface into contact with a concentrated suspension of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) in water, the novelty is that surfactant(s) is added to the suspension.
