The component holding device (5) holds a component with recesses (2, 3, 4), and has negatives (7, 8, 9) corresponding to these recesses. The negatives are mounted on a baseplate (6) and carry variable clamping elements. These can be varied in their diameter in order to hold the component positively by means of its recesses.
