Determining angle for relative alignment of radio station antenna array involves determining difference between alignment vector angle, reception angle for signals received from second radio station
Determining angle for relative alignment of radio station antenna array involves determining difference between alignment vector angle, reception angle for signals received from second radio station
The method involves determining the angle of a vector between the radio stations relative to the reference direction, sending signals from the second station to the first, receiving signals from the first stations' antenna array, determining the reception angle between the received signals and the array alignment direction and determining the alignment angle as the difference between the alignment vector angle and the reception angle. The method involves determining the angle (gamma) of a directional vector (V) between the first and second radio stations (BS1,2) relative to the reference direction (N), sending signals from the second station to the first, receiving signals from the first stations' antenna array, determining the reception angle (beta) between the received signals and the array alignment direction and determining the alignment angle (alpha1) as the difference between the alignment vector angle and the reception angle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a radio system with at least first and second radio stations (b) and a radio station with an antenna array.
