Fitting a contact lens at the eye uses a n umber of measurements, under infra red illumination, for photographic images to be sorted by a program to give a computed value for the axis
To fit a contact lens (2) at an eye (1), its position is determined by a number of measurement points to give at least one computed value for working the lens or its selection. During measurement, the eye is illuminated by a lamp, giving a light with a strong infra red component and especially using an infra red lamp. The position data include the decentering and/or the axis position (7) on direction stabilized contact lenses shown by markings (8). A photographic image (11) is taken, with an X-Y coordinate system (13) in one corner.
