An electromagnetic actuator drive has two pot-type magnets (4,4a) arranged coaxially in a housing, and with their pole plates positioned with a given spacing opposite one another and with a movable carrier element located between them and having a sleeve-shaped armature fixed to it. The pole plates (7,7a) have an annular air-gap (12,12a) and the sleeve-shaped armature on the carrier element (11) is designed as a common armature of both pot-type magnets (4,4a) and is displaceable in the air-gap. The thickness of the pole plates (7,7a) at least corresponds to the stroke of the carrier element, and the latter can be positioned, together with the associated actuating element (10), along the stroke.
