Continuous hydrogenation of a solution containing a compound capable of hydrogenation involves a heterogeneously catalyzed reaction using a hydrogen-containing gas with recycling of part of the H2-containing jet pump-compressed offgas to the reactor, the driving medium used in the jet pump being a liquid or gas component used in the reaction and the pressure of this medium being greater than the pressure at the entry of the compressed hydrogenation gas.
