The acoustic seal (18) is located below a roof edge (4) of the roof skin (2) defining the opening (3). It has a sealing surface (19) for sealing engagement with a seal unit (7,17) associated with the roof lid edge. An aperture screen (17) of the seal unit located on the side of the lid (8) engages on the sealing surface of the acoustic seal, when the lid is raised or angled. The acoustic seal is located between roof edge defining the roof opening, and a frame (10) positioned below the roof edge. The formed or profiled seal is of sound-absorbent material, e.g. foamed or injected plastic, and is curved sealing surface has a slide coating.
