Motor vehicle electrohydraulic braking system has a pressure store (14) with a pressure line (6) that has a branch to an auxiliary brake line (24). The latter is connected to a braking actuator (1) via a brake valve (23) that is normally closed and connects to a further auxiliary brake line (21). An auxiliary brake switching valve (22), which is electrically inverse to the brake inlet valves, so that it opens when there is a power supply failure, ensures that brake fluid is applied to at least one wheel brake when the power to the main braking system fails.
