Vacuum pump comprises a rotor (2) in a housing (1), and a slide (3) displaceably held in a slide slot (20) in the rotor and sliding on inner surfaces of the housing. An intermediate space is formed in the sliding direction between each end surface of the rotor and each inner side surface of the housing on which the slide slides. The inner side surfaces in the region of at least one of the contact regions in which the outer edges (24) of the rotor make contact with the inner side surfaces because of the angle of the rotor comprise an oil recess (14, 15) extending in the tangential direction relative to the outer periphery of the rotor.
