A sock or a stocking for swimming or running is fabricated from a waterproof and air-impermeable fabric with a flexible, transparent sole (4) containing a flexible, movable insert (2). The coloured inserts incorporate paper, foil, textile, granular small components, or small iridescent platelets and are visible. The inserts are attached to the sock sole by e.g. welding, bonding, sewing or staples.
