Sunscreen composition for topical application on human skin to protect skin against radiation damage

A sunscreen composition with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 2 contains 0.5 weight percent of dibenzoylmethane derivative and 0.5 wt% diester or polyester of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid. A sunscreen composition contains dibenzoylmethane derivative and diester or polyester of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid chosen from compound (I) and/or compound (II). [Image] R 11-22C alkyl, diol (a) and polyglycol (b); R 2, R 3straight or branched 1-6C alkylene; m, n : 1-100. An independent claim is also included for a method of filtering UV radiation from human skin by applying a sunscreen composition comprising 0.5-5 wt% of dibenzoylmethane derivative and diester or polyester of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid stabilizer.
