The outer (31) of two concentric skirts (31,32), behind the casing (30) centre, forms a receptacle for the mounting socket (50). Female connectors within the socket, crimped or soldered to the supply conductors (60), accept pins (53) on the lamp base (14), whose collar (12) locates it on the inner skirt (32). Socket passages are sealed with a self-hardening compound. After plugging and sealing the lamp into the socket, the bulb (11) is passed through the central openings (21). The socket enters the receptacle, to which it is sealed by a resilient ring (70), and secured by two clips (52). Finger-pads (521) on the latter allow them to be pinched inwards when withdrawal is necessary. The receptacle can be moulded on the reflector (20), supported by a sealing bellows on the casing (30).
