PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the steel to exhibit sufficient wear resistance even to alrasive wear by allowing it to have a specified compsn. contg. Cr and one or more kinds among Ti, Nb, Zr, V and W and controlling the total precipitating quantity of the carbides of Ti, Nb, Zr, V and W dispersed into the matrix to a specified range. ;SOLUTION: This steel has a compsn. contg., by weight, 8 to 35% Cr, one or more kinds among Ti, Nb, Zr, V and W, and the balance substantial Fe. Then, the content of the carbides of Ti or the like dispersed into the matrix is controlled to ≥0.1 wt.% by the total precipitating quantity. In the components in the steel, C imparts corrosion resistance thereto. Ti, Nb, Zr, V and W impart excellent wear resistance even to abrasive wear by the precipitation of their carbides. The abrasive wear denotes that in which hard grains are interposed on the contact face between the same materials or different materials, and the contact face is abraded and ground by the hard grains or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
