The method of mounting a console to a motor vehicle dashboard involve assembling the display components to the same central autonomous console (1). The console is fitted by rotation on a cross beam (2) of the dashboard structure and attachment without extra fittings, or by complementary formations (15a,b:13a,b) which are positioned in opposition after the console is pivoted. An Independent claim is included for a display console mounting system using the above method.
