Alkyl D-mannopyranoside uronic acid derivatives (I) are new. Alkyl D-mannopyranoside uronic acid derivatives of formula (I) are new. x = 0 or 1; R1 = 4-22C n-alkyl; R2, R3 = 4-22C n-alkoxy, OH, OM, 4-22C n-alkylamino or NH(CH2)qY; q = 4-22; Y = NH2, NHCOCH2N(Me)3Cl or NHCO-sugar; M = alkali(ne earth) metal. Independent claims are also included for: (1) four processes for preparing (I); (2) detergent, emulsifying or foaming composition comprising (I).
