摘要

Biopolyelectrolyte multilayer assembly and stability with respect to change of pH and salt concentration was characterised using complementary surface techniques. The multilayers showed composition-dependent dissolution, swelling and shrinkage behaviour. Multilayers could potentially be used to modify release through their effects upon interfacial transport and bioerosion; possibly exploiting their environmental sensitivity.
