A control process for a motor vehicle drive unit driven by vaporizing fuel where the fuel measurement is dependent upon its pressure and the cylinder (55) inlet air mass (rl) and inlet pressure (ps) is found by consideration of the fuel partial pressure (psng) and the residual gas (psrg) from the exhaust train (10). An Independent claim is also included for the a control device for the above process.
