The filter to retain solid particles in liquid samples for analysis, and especially fruit juices, is a cylindrical tube (1) with closures of different types at the ends. The lower closure (4) is locked in place by a disk (2) with a hole (3) under a synthetic foam dish (5) or glass wool , covered by a mass of glass felt (6). The mass is under pressure from a flat disk (7) with a passage (8) through it, and held in place by a pinch (14) in the tube. A filter material (9) is over the disk, without pressure, under a filter dish (10) without compression and with a hole (11) partially through it. The filter structure in the tube is held in place by the upper closure (12) where the upper rim is bent over (13). The filter materials are of needle bonded glass wool, of 100% natural cotton, or a felt on animal wool.
