Novel compositions (A) comprise a physiologically acceptable medium including a volatile silicone lipid phase containing volatile non-cyclic silicone oil(s) (I), where the evaporation profile of the silicone phase is such that 2-9 (preferably 2.3-6, especially 3-4.7) mg/cm 2of (I) is evaporated in 30 minutes. An independent claim is included for compositions (A') comprising a physiologically acceptable medium including a volatile lipid phase containing volatile non-cyclic oil(s) (I') having a surface tension of less than 21 (preferably less than 20) mN/m, where the evaporation profile of the lipid phase is such that 2-9 mg/cm 2of (I') is evaporated in 30 minutes.
