The diving flipper has a boot (1) and a fin (2) extending from the boot. The flipper allows the upper part of the foot to move with respect to the leg to vary the angle of the flipper. The flipper has stops (9) to allow a limitation of the size of the flapping movement of the flipper during use. The movement is limited to the maximum anatomical angle of the foot with respect to the leg.
