SYSTEM FOR PURIFYING ATMOSPHERE IN URBAN AREA

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for purifying the atmosphere in an urban area, which is useful for eliminating atmospheric pollution in the urban area along a main road where a car such as a large-sized diesel car emitting a large amount of exhaust gas travels at night. PSOLUTION: In the urban area along the main road where comparatively lower-rise buildings stand side by side, a U-shaped gutter on the upper opening of which a hatching-like material is laid is buried and a tree-planting part is arranged on the hatching-like material while interposing a soil mat between them. In the urban area along the main road where comparatively higher-rise buildings stand side by side, a ventilation duct is arranged from the ground to the rooftop of a building along the building in a valley between the buildings, the upper end of the ventilation duct is placed in the lower part of the soil mat of the tree-planting part arranged on the rooftop. The exhaust gas-containing atmosphere on the periphery of the main road is sucked from an intake of the ventilation duct arranged on the ground by using a suction fan and the sucked atmosphere is made to flow through the U-shaped gutter and the ventilation duct and discharged to the air through the soil mats of the respective tree-planting parts.
