PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent system failure of a fire extinguishing apparatus by excessive cooling of a pressure reducing device and precipitation of impurity in a fire extinguishing agent in the area of the decompressing machine.;SOLUTION: This fire extinguishing apparatus (1), especially a fire extinguisher (1) for a fire in the cargo room of an airplane, is equipped with at least one fire extinguishing agent container receiving the fire extinguishing agent (16) and a filter unit (7) and is structured to guide the fire extinguishing agent in the fire extinguishing agent container to a fire source via a pipe line system (10) equipped with a fire extinguishing agent delivery nozzle. By this invention, a fire extinguishing agent (16) can be controlled to be discharged from at least one extinguishing agent container to the pipe line system (10) by a control unit (4).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
