PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular control device for improving driveability while smoothing a change in driving force during accelerator operation in spite of the gear shift of a stepped variable transmission by setting target driving force in accordance with an accelerator opening and a gear step. PSOLUTION: A target driving force setting means 106 sets the target driving force F* in accordance with the accelerator opening Acc and the gear step for smoothing a change in the driving force F with a change in the accelerator opening Acc in spite of the gear shift of an automatic transmission 16. A driving force source torque control means 104 controls at least one of the lift amount and operation timing of an intake valve 74 so that the target driving force F* is attained after the gear shift of the automatic transmission 16, to control engine torque TSBE/SB. Thus, output torque TSBOUT/SBof the automatic transmission 16 is changed to smooth the change in the driving force F during the accelerator operation Acc, not stepwisely changed with the shift of the gear step, suppressing the change in driving force and improving driveability.
