PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metal-based composite material obtained by joining a thin metallic sheet having a high melting point and a thin metallic sheet having a low melting point together.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metal-based composite material comprises: overlapping a prescribed number of high melting point metallic sheets and low melting point metallic sheets each with a prescribed thickness alternately to make a preformed body; and joining the preformed body by causing a DC pulsed current of a prescribed voltage and current (or a superimposed current of a DC pulsed current and a DC current) to flow for a fixed time in a state where a prescribed pressure is added to the preformed body and in such a manner that the preformed body is held at a constant temperature in the temperature range between lower than the melting point of the high melting point metal and higher than that of the low melting point metal (temperature range between 90% of the melting point of the high melting point metal and 120% of that of the low melting point metal).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
