PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase, its gene, etc., and to use dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase as a diagnosing enzyme in an assaying kit.;SOLUTION: The protein comprises a specific amino acid sequence derived from Sinorhizobium and has dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase activity. The protein comprises an amino acid sequence in which one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the protein amino acid sequence and has dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase activity. The protein comprises an amino acid sequence having ≥80% homology to the amino acid sequence of the protein and has dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase activity.
