PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing life activity and/or expanding suitable region for the life activity of a living body such as an animal or a plant in an aqueous solution which is the environment of the living body. PSOLUTION: The method for enhancing life activity and/or expanding suitable region for the life activity relates to a mineral concentration in the water-based environment to which the living body is contacting and brings ,-trehalose and/or a carbohydrate derivative of ,-trehalose to be present in a water-based environment to which the living body is contacting.
