PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a behavior recognition device and method which can easily learn behaviors for each object, recognize the objects with high reliability and controls the operation of equipment based on the behaviors of the objects, and also provide an animal object recognition device and method, an equipment control device and method, and a program.;SOLUTION: The behavior recognition device inputs an object category, which is the result of recognition, from an object recognition device 3, extracts a primitive feature quantity relating to the object as a prestage for extracting the features of a behavior pattern, adapts a form model to the image of the object, extracts time series image data on representative point positions in parts unit, collates the extracted time series image data with model data, outputs a behavior category which has the highest similarity with model data when the model data corresponding to the time series image data exist, and learns the behavior category correlated to the time series image data when the model data corresponding to the time series image data do not exist.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
