PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a money identification processing device that enables efficient use and saving of history data necessary for maintenance. PSOLUTION: The money identification processing device comprises a plurality of functional parts including a money input mechanism 1, a money identification circuit 2, a money reception circuit 3, a denomination identification circuit 4, a money holding mechanism 5, an input/output circuit 6, a merchandise selling circuit 7, a money dispensing circuit 8, a storage circuit 9, a timer 10 and a division setting circuit 13. The storage circuit 9 includes a first storage area (cumulative data area) for holding an operation history of each functional part, and a second storage area (maintenance data area) for holding an update on the operation history of the functional part upon every maintenance, repair or replacement process. The division setting circuit 13 saves the history data dividingly so as to hold count results in the cumulative data area and count results in the maintenance data area in the storage circuit 9 independently.
