A system (1) in which this invention is used is provided with: a main storage device comprising a first storage unit, and a second storage unit that serves as an alternate for the first storage unit; an information generation means for generating operation information that represents the content of an operation; an access means capable of accessing the first storage unit and the second storage unit of the main storage device; and an alternate determination means for determining whether or not to use the second storage unit as an alternate for the first storage unit, and, in accordance with using the determination result to control the access means, for respectively storing operation information in the second storage unit and data other than operation information that should be stored in the main storage device in the first storage unit when the second storage unit is not used as an alternate for the first storage unit, and respectively storing operation information in the first storage unit and data other than operation information that should be stored in the main storage device in the second storage unit when the second storage unit is used as an alternate for the first storage unit.
