PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projecting die for width presses and a manufacturing method of a hot-rolled steel sheet using the same by which the twist of a slab is suppressed, the allowance of trimming caused by edge seam marks is reduced than that in conventional dies and the yield is improved even in the case the amount of edging is made larger.;SOLUTION: In a pair of dies, a second projecting part having a tapered trapezoidal cross section both the lengths of the top side and the base of which is shorter than the length of the top side of a first projecting part is provided on the top face of the first projecting part in the outlet-side parallel pressing part, three surfaces with transition slops which are respectively connected to three surfaces with which the second projecting part of the outlet-side parallel pressing part is formed from the top face of the first projecting part of the inlet-side parallel projecting pressing part on the top face of the first projecting part of the intermediate parallel pressing part and also the lengths in the slab conveying direction of the inlet-side parallel pressing part and the outlet-side parallel pressing part are taken as not shorter than the slab conveying pitch.
