PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black compound suitable for use in inkjet recording, writing utensil and excellent in ozone gas resistance, light fastness, moisture resistance and color rendering properties, storage stability as a recording liquid, and to provide an ink composition comprising the same. PSOLUTION: The invention relates to an ink composition comprising an azo compound represented by formula (1) or a salt of the same. (In the formula RSP1/SP-RSP6/SPare each arbitrary substituents, A and B are each a single bond, wherein the substituted position of the bonding A is 2- or 3-position and the substituted position of the bonding B is 2'- or 3'-position, l is 1 or 2, m and n are each 0 or 1.
