PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen switch state detecting member that is suited to notify the pen switch state of a touch pen in an input device.;SOLUTION: A holding member 201 as the pen switch state detecting member is formed with a hole 202 for the insertion of the touch pen 14 and positioned at a distance H1 from a tablet display 13. The hole diameter of the hole 202 is smaller than the largest diameter of the touch pen 14, and the distance H1 from the tablet display 13 is such a distance as keeps the tip of the touch pen 14 out of contact with the display 13 when the touch pen 14 is inserted in the hole 202 and held at a position whose a diameter matches the hole diameter and as remains in the detection range of the tablet display 13. A check on whether an input position is detected or not from the touch pen 14 held in the pen switch state detecting member reveals the pen switch state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
