METHOD OF PERFECTING PRINTING IN INKJET PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time period for completing the perfecting printing when the perfecting printing is performed in an inkjet printer by a method wherein a time period for drying ink on a front face and a time period for drying ink on a rear face are estimated, time periods required for a sequence of performing the printing in an order of the front face and the rear face in a regular manner and a sequence of performing the printing in an order of the rear face and the front face are calculated, and then the sequence requiring the shorter time period is performed.;SOLUTION: This inkjet printer forms an image by depositing ink on a paper. In an inkjet printer having a flipping unit for flipping the paper, the ink has to be dried before the paper is passed through the flipping unit. Based on regions or densities of images on the front and rear faces, each of the time periods for drying the ink on the front and rear faces is estimated. It is judged which one between sequences of firstly printing on the front face and firstly printing on the rear face shortens the whole time period of the perfecting printing, and then the sequence with a shorter time is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
