PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively controlling the proliferation of a plant culture tissue without damaging its cell/tissue. ;SOLUTION: This method for controlling the proliferation of a plant tissue by light quality comprises carrying out a culture by a combination of light sources composed of two or more specific monochromatic light components such as a monochromatic light component having 450 nm-470 nm peak wavelength and a monochromatic light component having 660-680 nm peak wavelength in the ratio of 9:1 to 7:3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
