PURPOSE: To provide a producing method capable of obtaining glycidyl methacrylate in increased glycidol reaction ratio without lowering production purity in a purification process in obtaining glycidyl methacrylate by transesterification of glycidol with methyl methacrylate. ;CONSTITUTION: In this method for producing glycidyl methacrylate by transesterification of glycidol with methyl methacrylate, the reaction is carried out in the presence of KX (K is potassium; X is cyan ion, cyanic acid ion or thiocyanic acid ion) as a catalyst and after the reaction is finished, a catalystinactivating agent is added thereto and unreacted methyl methacrylate is recovered under reduced pressure and then glycidyl methacrylate is recovered.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
