PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively measure a transmission characteristic and a reflecting characteristic by keeping the excitation strength of input and output excitation electrodes and an external Q to be a prescribed relation and making electrode faces of both the electrodes orthogonal to each other. ;SOLUTION: An MT duplex mode dielectric resonator 28 having E1 and E2 modes is placed at a prescribed position of a shield conductor 16 in the middle of a main body 12 and electrodes 26a, 26b are located so that respective electrode faces are orthogonal to each other. A loop diameter of the electrode 26a is selected larger than a loop diameter of the electrode 26b and the excitation strength of the input stimulation electrode 26a is selected to be twice the excitation strength of the output excitation electrode 26b or over. Furthermore, an external Q of the input excitation electrode 26a and an external Q of the output excitation electrode 26b are selected higher than a no load Q of the multiple mode dielectric resonator. The resonator 28 is located in the middle of the main body 12 by hooking claws 36a, 36b of a positioning member 34 with side plates 18a, 18b of the main body 12 in the lengthwise direction after containing the resonator 28 in the main body 12 and fitting a projection 38 to a hole 32.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
