An object of the present invention is to quickly display a simulation image of a stitch close to a knitted fabric that is actually knitted. If there is an image at the position of the corresponding stitch between the upper layer 1 and the lower layer 2, the images of the pattern stitch 11 and the modified stitches 12 and 13 of the upper layer 1 having a high priority are displayed. Within each layer, a combination of stitches modularized in advance is selected from the library, and an editing operation for changing the position and shape of the stitch image is possible. The stitches around the pattern stitch 11 are replaced with the deformed stitches 12 and 13 reflecting the influence of the pattern stitch knitting. The image data of the basic stitch 10, the pattern stitch 11, and the modified stitches 12 and 13 are created and stored using actual knitting fabric imaging and computer graphics. By combining the stored image data, a simulation image of a stitch close to the knitted fabric that is actually knitted can be quickly displayed.
