Disclosed is a method for preparing an aqueous formulation with an active ingredient of a phenolic nature susceptible to oxidation, for preservation for an extended period of time, wherein the aqueous formulation is deoxygenated by bubbling with at least one inert gas and/or placing under vacuum until the oxygen content is below 2 ppm, wherein the aqueous formulation is topped with an atmosphere of an inert gas and is placed in a closed container in which the prevailing pressure is 65,000 Pa at the highest, wherein the oxygen content of the aqueous formulation is below or equal to 2 ppm, and wherein the effect of the deoxygenation of the formulation is completed by addition of an antioxidising agent.
