METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING STENOSIS OF RENAL ARTERIES

The method for diagnosing the stenosis of the renal arteries is based on the measurement of the blood flow rate in the end segment of the artery at the site of its origin from the aorta and near the hilum of the kidney. Then the blood pressure gradient between the sites stated above is calculated. The calculated value is compared with the nominal one. The axial trajectory of the artery is divided into several segments of the stipulated length with the specified nominal values of the hydraulic resistance. The blood flow rate is measured in the beginning and in the end of each segment, and the blood pressure gradient values in the specified segments are calculated. The blood pressure gradient value exceeding the nominal one for the segment of the specified length is indicative of the stenosis in the specified segment of the artery.
