TRANSMISSION METHOD WHICH COMBINES PULSE POSITION AND PHASE MODULATION AND ALLOWS MORE THAN ONE PULSE TO BE ACTIVE PER TIME PERIOD(err)AbstractA method for transmission of data is presented, wherein a variant of pulse position modulation is employed, which allows on the one hand more than one pulse position to be active in every time period, thus increasing the number of possible combi-nations and consequently the number of bits that can be coded per time period, and on the other hand a reduction of the time period for a given number of pulse positions, by allowing a high degree of overlapping between the pulses in adjacent pulse position due to the introduction of a phase shift between them which serves as a parameter to better distinguish between two high overlapping pulses with reduced detection margin. An embodiment of the method presented considers the possibility of limiting the pulse positions that can be active simultaneously to non-adjacent positions with a distance that can be a function of the aforementioned phase difference.
