Procedure based on the use of bacteriophages for the detection of biological molecules in biological samples.

A method for detecting the presence of molecules of interest in biological samples, comprising the following operations: a) immobilising the molecules of interest without destroying the ability to interact with these molecules the molecules exposed on the surfaces of the phage; b) causing a molecule of interest, immobilized as described above, specifically binds to at least one of the recombinant filamentous bacteriophages, which internally have a molecule of single-stranded DNA whose sequence is at least partially known, and exposing to the surfaces of the capsid at least one molecule capable of binding specifically to at least one molecule of interest present in the biological sample; c) separating the molecule-bacteriophage complex thus obtained in the reaction mixture; d) washing to remove the complexes generated by nonspecific interaction between molecule and bacteriophage; e) adding the reagents parallevar out the operation under g) below; f) lysing proteins forming the capsid protein of bacteriophages selected in this way; g) amplifying the DNA obtained as explained above for the chain reaction of the polymerase (PCR); h) detecting the DNA amplified as above discloses des. viral antigens, parts thereof or oligopeptides capable of mimicking the effects of their presence in the biological fluids under examination.
