METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IN VITRO SIMULATION OF AN IN VIVO FLUID FLOW

A method for simulating in vivo flow conditions. A fluid is positioned in a fluid channel (3) in a fluid holder (2). Thereafter a fluid flow which may have a pulsatile character is generated. The generating of the fluid flow, comprises swinging the fluid holder (2) from a first position into a second position different from the first position. Thereby, an acceleration force is exerted on the fluid and a fluid flow is generated. Thereafter, the fluid holder (2) is swung back from the second position in a direction towards the first position, whereby a decelerating force is exerted on the fluid and the fluid flow is stopped.
