The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for reproducing a zeilenflimmerreduzierten graphic signal on a working interlaced playback television display. The non-interlaced graphics signal is written in an image memory (12) and read out as interlaced signal back therefrom.; Furthermore, it is subjected to vertical filtering. The vertical filtered graphic signal is displayed on the television display. After the writing of the pixels of the graphics signal into the image memory the need for vertical filtering is checked this pixel with respect to each by a comparison with one or more adjacent pixels in the vertical direction. After this verification each of these pixels is assigned a tag identifying the particular pixel as already checked pixels. This unnecessary multiple filtering is avoided.
