HYDROMETRIC MEASUREMENT TRANSMITTER AND ASSEMBLY

The invention relates to a hydrometric measurement transmitter and assembly. The inventive transmitter consists of a cable comprising a conducting core (1) that is surrounded by a dielectric sheath (2), which is interrupted by a series of measuring stations (4). The aforementioned measuring stations (4) are equipped with a dielectric sheath (6) having a reduced cross-section and said sheath is surrounded by a space filled with the test material. According to the invention, a portion of the signal enters the cavity which is closed with a short-circuit conductor ring (10) and which acts as a resonant cavity in order to reflect part of the signal towards the source. The reflected signal is analysed in order to deduce the permittivity of the test material filling the cavity and, consequently, the humidity and temperature thereof. The invention is suitable for monitoring clays used for the containment of spent nuclear fuel.
