The present invention provides novel derivatives comprising compounds in the androstane and androstene series, coupled with ascorbic acid, including salts thereof, and represented by one or more of the general formulae: wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 may individually be chosen from hydrogen, OH, carbonyl, and an ascorbyl moiety; and R7 may be hydrogen or any halogen.
