Production of a drive device for machine tools such as presses comprises a flywheel (10) and a planet gear with a drive shaft (4) coupled to the flywheel and a driven shaft (5). The planet gear is composed of different gear parts so that it can have a first transmission ratio or at least one second transmission ratio. The design with the first transmission ratio consists of a ring gear (3), first planet wheels (2) and a first sun wheel (1). The design with the second transmission ratio consists of a second different sun wheel (1a), second different planet wheels (2a), and the above ring gear or a ring gear with the same properties as the above ring gear. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Number of gear parts used in the production of a drive device for machine tools such as presses; and (2) Drive device for machine tools such as presses.
