Fuel (46) is pumped toward the heater (10) through a large bore tube (36). A plug (38) in the end of the tube has bores for three narrow bore tubes carrying fuel to different parts of the combustion system. The first tube (38) feeds into an igniter with a glow plug (30) in a small chamber (26) with a sintered or a fibrous wall (32). The igniter discharges (28) into a main combustion chamber (22) with a sintered or a fibrous wall (22) promoting evaporation of the fuel. The remaining two narrow bore feed tubes (40,42) discharge (50,52) into the main combustion chamber in different places.
